Sorry to hear you've lost a fish, are you sure he was actually stuck as when there not well they will go and hide away somewhere quiet, i've never had a fish that's got physically stuck between the filter and tank have you tested your water just to make sure there's nothing going on?

If it was truly stuck wasn't your fault and judging by the no of times you check on them (which is good) it must have just been a really unlucky incident

my waters perfect just checked it.theres no illness.i checked them all lastnight before bed and all was fine.so must of happened over night.yeah he did get stuck for sure.when i moved the filter out he came floating out.i have a fluval 3 plus internal filter which are quite big.im getting an external next month so should not happen again.

Ahh that's a shame - i've just lost 3 seemingly healthy guppies over last 2 weeks waters fine - so its either the red tailed black shark or coloured skirt tetras - it's like bloody cluedo

I'd be interested in what external filter u choose and how its setup as i use an internal for a 100 litre

sorry for your loss too.well personally i have owned a fluval 305, tetratec & aqua pro 4 in the past, but im going to get one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170713136928?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_1709wt_905
i had one 2 years ago on my 180 litre tank that i no longer have  and it was great.i know its cheap but its performance is outstanding.it comes with all media etc.i never had any problems at all.water was always crystal clear.you should consider it.im getting one in a few weeks.

I lost a guppy, neon and minnow overnight for no apparent reason. It's a shame but these things do happen.

It's more likely he died and drifted to the filter than actually became stuck though.

Looks good anyone else had experience with these filters - i would have gone with fluval as im still on all the orginal kit over 8 years later (tank, filter, heater)

well he could have but we dont know for sure

I'm also looking at buying an external filter, i have a 64 litre tank and have been looking at the tetratec ex700 or the fluval 205 but there both so expensive this looks a much better price think i may look to see if they do a smaller version as i think ths would be like a whirlwind in a teacup with my tank lol

lol yeah prob would be
but they are great filters tho for the price

I've had a Tiger Barb get stuck between the rear of the filter and the side of the tank. Luckily I was able to free her. I think she followed one of my Kuhli's, as they like to drape themselves over the bracket/suckers, in and then got stuck. :D

Sorry to hear you weren't able to free your little fella.
