Ive Just Set Up My Malawi Tank Need Help

just set up my Malawi tank ive put in 80kg of ocean rock been giong about a month now All the rock is going yellow and brown anyone out there know how to sort out the problem . All the fish are doing well cheers troy

It's probably algea setting in. Sorry to say you'll battle it as long as you have the white rock in there. You could take it out and scrub it, but you probably won't be able to get the junk out of the cracks/divets in it.

Are you doing regular water changes - say 20% - 30% per week? I have found that the better the water quality, the less of a problem algae is. The green stuff is generally fine, its the other types you don't want.

Ive just wrote this in another post earlier...

I had OceanRock in my old tank but i wouldnt have it again.. with it being white, it turned yellow (yes, not green!!, but yellow lol) with algae within a week or so. I really didnt like the look so i had to change them.. i got large brown river cobbles from B&Q and i love them, they look really well (alot cheaper too).

You can scrub it off but itll only grow back.. if you really dont like it, then your best changing them for darker rock.
