Hi All,its been a few years since i posted on here so go easy on me

I have had a 2ft tank running for about 7 years,4 of which has had 5 Zebra Danios in it (Yes they are still alive today)
As my tank looked a bit dull so i bought 5 Neon Tetras

After a week 2 of the Neons developed the dreaded NTD (Or so i thought) 1 even had no tail,it had totally gone??
At this point i was going out so i thought first thing in the morning im going to Euthanize them
I got up the next day morning with my bag of ice ready to carry out the task & to my amazement they looked a bit brighter & the white patch in between the tail & body had started to fade. So i gave them the benefit of the doubt(unless they got any worse)
The next day all signs of NTD had gone, they had started to school with the others & the Zebras were chasing them round......this was 6 months ago & they are all alive today with no signs of illness

What i dont understand is that any Neons ive had in the past as soon as NTD shows they are usually dead in 24-48 hours

Just wondering if anyhone else has had a similar thing with any other fishes?

Are you sure they hadn't just gone pale for another reason?

Some fish, including neons can develop odd colouration, due to stress, dominance or even lighting.

If I switch the lights on too late in my green neons tank, and they've been in the dark, they've lost all the blue on them and the stripe is a coppery-red colour; they look almost like glowlights. And if one or two of them have been behind the wood, they can be half blue, half copper.

it was a solid white spot on the last bit of the Neon Stripe where it meets the tail & in the red area near the rear of fish
I have had it in the past so im pretty sure it was that,Obviously it was something else
