Congrats on your betta.....he's a real beauty

That should be fine. We have a 28ltr divided to two of our males and they are quite happy and active.

great, my tank is divided in the middle and on one side theres the male betta and on the other little baby guppies. he's always eyeing them up
can bettas jump over a divider?

Yes.....they will jump lol It would be best to pop something over the top or reduce the water level abit. We've had quite a few jump dividers or jump straight out of the tank.

Not just then really. Somtimes when it's feeding time or they just want to get to whatever is on the other side and some can jump quite high when they put their minds to it lol

We feed ours mainly Attisons Betta Pro which you can get on ebay and lasts forever, or Hikari Betta Gold pellets which your local lfs should stock. We give 4 pellets, twice a day. Once a week we treat with live or frozen bloodworm or daphnia.

I get a variety pack of frozen food from one of the aquariums in Edinburgh.

It has blood worms, a favourite, brine shrimp, daphnia and white mosquitos in it.

Last weekend when I was in I noticed that they are now selling live bloodworms and brine shrimp so I am thinking of giving that a go.

I give him squashed peas and brocolli once a week as well.

The honest answer is that the wee guy would eat pretty much any food that goes in the tank.

I also got some dried betta food, he did turn his nose up at that for a while. He is also partial to catfish sinkers I got.

If it's the Tetra Prima mini granules, those should be fine. That's what I feed Duncan. Always have. None of the shops anywhere near me sell specific betta food.

Bloodworm or baby cut up earthworm once a week is what I feed as a treat. Dunc doesn't like Daphnia or brine shrimp.

Squashed cooked pea seems to go down very well though, and keeps the fishes system regular and guards against bloating. On the day he gets a pea I don't give him any of his normal food or treats.
