I used to have a slight fear of the dark, no better therapy than creeping around 5,000 year old tombs in the wild countryside...

These were all built in the late stone age by early farming communities using only stone tools.

Newgrange again at another time of year (note The Plough is visible above and to the left of the mound).

great pics and i love how you capture the colours of the sky :)

Well done!

I like the contrast between light and dark you've done.

I wish I had the mastery of shutter speeds and apertures to get good shots like that!
I still rely on the automatic setting if I want a good one ;)

As always, Great pictures Ken, you manage to amaze me with each new lot you show

I don't think i'v ever asked you....how long have been been intrested in photography?

Thanks for all the comments :)

Dog: I've been interested in photography for about 2-3 years but used to be all automatic until last summer or so, learning proper exposure by observing how the camera did it and making small adjustments, working my way up to making large adjustments and now I use mostly aperature priority or manual mode. All the night photos were taken in manual mode using a constant aperature of F8 if there was enough light or larger aperatures if absolutely necessary.

BTW, that is a shooting star in the last pic but someone suggested it could also have been the space station because it is brighter.
