I've left my tanks' lights on longer than I should every day, and now my plant/algal growth has overtaken the glass sides. I can't see inside to say hello to the fishes.

Do you think this is bad situation, or do you, like I am at the moment, consider that a 'little' more greenery is good for the welfare of the tank/s?

Here's the main reason why I think its good.......it looks more natural, and easily mirrors what I see in the rivers that surround me.

Tempted to leave it, what do you lot think?

I recommend you get rid of it.

I once thought the same way you do now, and left the algae thinking the fish wouldn't mind anyway, so why should I. However, because I couldn't see in I noticed the fact that my puffer managed to get herself trapped inbetween the divider and the filter too late, and needless to say, found a dead puffer.

You never know what situation your fish will get themselfs in ... it's better to be able to keep an eye on them.

For the reason Erised mentioned, you might want to scrape the algae off the front glass, at least. It really comes down to a matter of personal taste whether you like the tank with or without excessive greenery :)

If the tank's infested with algae you may as well just put a green box in your living room. Remove the algae, keep the plants.
