I haven't had a Betta in like 6 months. But two weeks ago I saw one at the pet store that I couldn't say no to. He looked so sad, he had pretty bad fin rot and was quite listless, but i could sorta see that he could be pretty if he just got some love. So I bought him and set up my on' five gal. (With a bunch of plant trimmings from my 30 gal and a goofy dinosaur decoration that the SO picked out because we both love dionsaurs)
So it's been about two weeks, and while his fins have really improved, I've never seen him eat. Until yesterday!
He's a blue and red halfmoon (I didn't take any pictures when I got him and I haven't named him cause I wasn't sure he'd live) But now that he's eating and his fins are starting to look better I think I'll have to post some pictures and ask for help with names! :p

Every now and then it's so nice to feel like you'd accomplished something.

Yay! So glad he's eating and getting better. Would really love to see some pictures :)

Glad to hear he's on the mend and good for you taking him on and caring for him!
+1 for a photo please - names are often inspired from visual cues.

I love how you rehomed the poorly fish that most people would avoid :) Glad that he's doing well now, I would also like to see some pictures :)

:)

Yes, moments like these are to be cherished ;)

That's wonderful that you got to take him home and put him on the mend. You fixed him up real good and I can already say that you're a great fish owner, even if you have a silly dinosaur decoration ;)
Please post photos! I would love to seem him :)
