Cherry barbs dont shoal very well but they are really lovely! I had a group of 8 males (i liked the colour and they couldnt seem to care less if there was no females!).

Barbs can be her n there with nippy. Some are and some arent. The only ones out of the ones that have been mentioned so far that i would trust with anything would be the cherry barbs, but angels are very good at holding their own and dont mind boisterous fish, so long as they dont nip.

The rhombo barbs in full colour are stunning and fast, good shoalers etc and dont nip but wont ever be bothered by angels. Probably my favourite out of everything mentioned.

Get yourself the 240 and you can have either an epic shoal of fish or two nice shoals. I'd be tempted to go for a shoal of rasbora/penguin tetras etc as they shoal middle to top of the tank and a shoal of tetras or cherry barbs as they shoal near the bottom of the tank

I agree with the above about the Cherry Barbs, beautiful little characters when kept in a good number, i would also like to suggest the 5 Banded Barbs if i may.. i have 4F and 3M and they are absolutely fantastic, a firm favourite of mine and will continue to be so

I have lemon tetras & I love them & they will be fine with Angela. I also have tiger & green barbs although wouldn't recommend with angels however 5 banded barbs us a very good shout if you like the barb look without the aggression!!! I think they will work wl!!
