Ok, so i thought hey i have a spare tank and lots of spare time, ill get a new betta. He is ya run of the mill VT but i saved him from a tank of featherfinned danios so he has abit of fin damage. But ive placed some salt in his tank for when he is ready to be put in. He also has some IAL :D But he is a light blue lavender colour body with deep blue fins. His dorsal fin is kind of marbled so maybe he has some marble in him? who knows. I'd call him a Multi colour at the moment but once i get a pic when he has settled i will get you to check :)

Well, here is a picture. I think it shows his colours nicely but ill try and get one as he settles in more and stops bloomin flaring at the female next to him :p can people tell me if on his anal fin it looks like finrot? i dont think it is i think it's just the bit where he's been nipped at in the lfs but im unsure :/

Bret

Woops meant to say ANAL FIN :)

He sure is a mutt :p The fins don't really look like fint rot - self biting or bad water maybe...

I'd guess and say he's cambodian with a blue metallic layer showing on the fins.

Yeah something like that eh Chrissi! :p He was the last betta in the sop and im glad he wsa still there from when i went and bought my new tank. Oh and i bought a gang valve but thats not that special :p

Bret

Its not self biting or water quality because they get deliveries every tuesday so he is in brand new water and they do waterchanges every monday for the new fish, they have it really well worked out. I even had a long chat to the man in the shop about fish and that lol he is a really nice guy! anyway, i think it was just nipping from the others :)

Bret

I think he'd just be classified as a multi, like you said. He's a handsome boy, good on you for saving him from the meanie fin nippers.

Yeah, featherfinned danios are nasty.. they were swarming around him til i tapped on glass and they all swam away... i then saw him looking all sad :( lol so i HAD to buy him :) and £2.60 for a small tub of freeze dried bloodworms? SCANDAL :p

Bret

after being here an hour and a half he has started a bubblenest... he must really love that female next to him :)

He's pretty! He looks like the fish that my mom let my little sister buy... :shout: According to my sister, he's at Disneyland.

Well Done Bret for saving the little fishy from the nasty other fishes and the even nastier fish place. :good:

It won't be bad for much longer, because they'll have a budding, active, informative, hardworking new lad working in there soon :p ;)

Bret

Havnt called him anything yet... but im thinking of Zizou... In honour of Zinedine Zidanes class headbutt :D

Bret

Nah lol, he just has that bad attitude about him :p anyway, his bubblenest is very big now and the female is raring to go. Shame we still have 10 days of conditioning left. Oh and by the way. Guess who's got a new saturday job at the LFS :D

Bret

Ah, lucky. If i did that, I would surely be fired, as after every shift I would suspiciously be taking out crates of things, and in the morning mysteriously fish would be missing. Not saying I am a theif, but, wow that's what it sounds like! damn.

Enjoy your new job!!

About the name, do you like naming your fish after human names? or any names? I prefer human names. My first betta was named Mortimer.
