Its Getting Worse

my lil boy nick has fin rot for the second time now, and iv been treating him for about a week now on meracin 2. i went to check on him again today, and noticed that it is no longer just on his tail like it was. now it has taken more of his tail than the first time, started to spread to his dorsal fin, and his anal fin. yet again i have cleaned his tank and given him more mercin, this time i have added a bit of melafix to his water, and just a bit of salt. he is getting one of my extra heaters in just a bit. is there anything else that i should do for him that i haven't done already??

I've never used Maracyn but I know many people have so it might be worth continuing with that treatment.
I had exactly the same problem with one of my fighters, his fins got worse before they got better. I treated him for 7 days with Pimafix and Melafix (using only half the recommended dose) and then did a water change. I didn't see a difference straight away but after a couple of weeks his fins started to grow back.

Depending on how long you have been treating him with the same medication, he may have become immuned to it. I know I had this problem with one of my fish. They didn't get better for over 4 weeks, so I switched meds and they started getting better.
