I have a very pregnant molly that looks like she is going to explode. I put her in a breeders net, now she is pooping like crazy its really long too I know you probably think thats nasty, but I heard that it was a sign that she would have the babies really really soon and the hole the babies come out is getting bigger. Is this a sign that she will have her babies soon?

yes so does anyone know the answer to this quesetion? oh yes and whoever moved this thank you i thought i was already in livebearers but i wasnt

Yeah, it can be a sign of giving birth soon. Or that she ate a lot of high protein foods. Though I'd watch her, and expect babies! :D

Somewhat, though I was talking more along the lines of Frozen, Freeze-dried or Live foods. :)

ok cool but are tetramin flakes going to make her poop that much, thats all I fed her. I put her in the breeders net, should I keep her in there?

TetraMin Flakes aren't very high protein....so that shouldn't. I'd expect fry.

As a side note, though...try to vary her diet a little more, if you could, by adding in Frozen, Live, or Freeze-dried foods, and Veggies. Mollies love veggies! :D

And you can keep her in there, though I would not expect many fry. Mollies are big fry eaters, and in that small of a space...prime targets. Also, if she doesn't give birth in a few days, take her out for at least 12 hours, then you can put her back in if you want to. :)

I tried to feed her some freeze dried products she just spits all of it back out. What type of veggies do they like? and how can I give it to them?

Some fish don't like Freeze-dried. Try Frozen...most fish gobble that up.

For Veggies...cucumber, zucchini, peas...things like that are good. Just blanch it, to soften them up a bit for them, and make it easier to eat. :)

ok i will try that, would frozen bloodworms be ok? Wait what do you mean by blanch it?

Frozen Bloodworms are very good, just make sure it is totally defrosted, otherwise it can block their intestines. And don't overfeed..because these kinds of foods pollute the water VERY fast.

Blanch....boil water, then drop the select piece of veggie in for a few seconds to soften it up. :)
