Issue With Yeast Co2 Method

Hi everyone, I have setup a very rudimentry CO2 pop bottle. Basically bottle, hose and yeast water and sugar mix, and everything seemed to go swimmingly. The only trouble I have is every now and again I find that some of the aquarium water has returned to the pop bottle.
Is there an easy way to stop this from happening as the water sometimes overflows out of the bottle and it runs very close to the electrics.

you can put a non return valve on the tubing that goes into the tank to stop the water back siphoning.

How does the water overflow out of the bottle? Is the lid not on tight?
