Is This True?

well on my baby biorb it says 5 gallon, 15 litres so if i have a 60 litre(near enough) tank then that must be 20 litres

The problem is in using this erroneous unit conversion is that is gets magnified when you start multiplying it out farther. Because 15 L is 3.96 U.S. gallons, not 5. Now, the difference between 5 gallons and 4 gallons isn't really a whole lot.

But, you multiply that by a factor of 4, and you really start to add up to significant amounts of volume. I.e. 60 L is really 15.8 U.S. Gallons, nowhere near 20. Couple that with the fact that the tank is really 54L, not 60L, and as was posted several times, you end up with a tank of only 14.3 U.S. gallons. Quite a difference from 20.

These unit conversions really aren't that hard. Lots of calculators out there, including Google. Just type "54 L in u.s. gallons" into Google and it does the conversion for you. There really isn't any excuse for not knowing the actual volume of your tanks.
