Theres a picture of the stuff i got

Its 9.5% solution like most others, it certainly smells like just pure ammonia (and now i know why fish find it hard to breathe with this stuff in there tank LOL)

It however does foam...Kind of...

I shaked a master test kit with just ammonia in it very vigorously, and bubbles appeared, but they stayed at the top, i wouldnt call it "foam" just a collection of air bubbles...but meh...hard to tell...certainly not "white" bubbles like with fairy liquids etc, more just general clear bubbles, that dissapeared, but took 20-30 seconds. and still had a few littlens on top.

:yahoo: Thats the right stuff :yahoo:

If you go to the 'FAQ' section on the website, it tells you that it is pure ammonia diluted with only water.

Now to work out how much to use...........

Go to 'Aquarium Calculator' at the top of the screen and it'll calculate how much ammonia you need. Aim to raise the level to 5ppm. :good:

Any questions, just ask.

Cheers

YES!!!!

Bought some plants today, 3 great pieces of bogwood (got them in the bath now with water so my tank doesnt get dirty)

The tanks coming tommorow 11 AM, got a master kit, got food, cleaning equipment.

Just need some spare parts as a just-in-case and all thats left is the fish in a months or so time!!!!

Im sure il be fine with the quantity i do tonnes of chemical stoichiometric equations at uni, same principle, but thanks for letting me know of the calculator, il use it if im lazy one day LOL.

Yeah i did go to the FAQ but it was all " X user posted image", grr i hate it when that happens lol.

Thanks for the help BTT!

Hey twistedlink, hope you don't mind me asking BTT a question in your thread...

BTT, in that other thread where you posted the link to the BigNose discussion of cycling time stuff..

I know Bignose was talking about fish-in cycling but somehow I got the impression that perhaps he was also saying that he would expect fishless cycling to take 19-21 days until that first big nitrite spike. I don't have time now to re-read it but was thinking you could answer this off the top of your head.

I'm at 17 days and no spike yet despite 7.2pH, 88F temp, aeration and trying to hold steady around 4ppm...

17 days isn't at the stage where i would start to worry, but a water change wouldn't hurt and it may kick things into action.

Try a 75% water change and top ammonia back up to 4ppm. Let me know how it goes. :good:
