Is This The Ammonia I Need?

Yes but make sure it has no surfactants, dyes, perfumes etc. Basically if it foams when you shake it don't use it. Where are you located?

I just got some Ammonia from my local hardware store. It is called Ace ammonia "Janitorial strength formula."

Basically, when ammonia is added to water it chemically bonds with the hydrogen from the H2O, which forms NH4OH (Ammonium Hydroxide)

I'm located in IL. I was looking around for ammonia FOREVER, but finally I remembered I had an old chemistry set thing I got a long time ago, and it had AMMONIUM HYDROXIDE! <--- That was just 5 minutes ago. Yup it's pure ammonia. WOOHOO.

Great, I looked forever too, I finally found some at The Dollar Store , Austin's clear Ammonia. But I know what you mean it is so hard to find.

The NH4OH is exactly what you want. Even the tiny amount in a typical kid's chemistry set should be enough to cycle a small tank. Does it say qwhat the concentration was when it was first bottled? Typical concentrations that we use are about 9.5% and smell so strong that if you open the bottle anywhere near your nose you will regret doing it.

yup, it has the concentration. 4.5%, not a lot. I saw the ammonia calc in the Aquarium Calculator place, it said I need 1.6-2.1mL to get 4-5 ppm. There's only 2 ounces in the bottle. Hope I don't run out x.x

anyway thanks for the help, I'm not going to start the actual cycle until late october-early november, because I'm planning on getting the Betta that'll live there on Christmas.
