I was going to my lfs for a second tank since I needed to change out the entire substrate and figured it would be easier to just switch everything from one tank to another (corys didn't like the gravel so much lol), and I was going to get some regular sand, but this stuff caught my eye.

I should have done some research on it, especially with how much it cost. But you know how impulse buys are IT LOOKED SO COOL . . . and now I'm going to switch everthing over, but I thought I would ask before I did just to make sure no one has had any bad experiances with it and corys or plants (lots of those too).

We have Tahitian Moon black sand in two of our tanks and have found it to be excellent stuff.

It especially suits nervous fish as they feel more hidden against a dark substrate, and burrowing fish as it's a heavy sand that doesn't stay in suspension very long when disturbed.

Make sure you wash it though as it seems to be very dirty straight out of the bag.

From what I have seen and read about the stuff it's supposed to be no different to alot of other sands and fish safe. It's just a pity I can't get hold of the stuff over here, I think it is an awesome colour and have been trying to chase some up for ages :(
