Did a recent revamp of my tank and have gone for more plants. I was already using C02, gravel heat and fertilization but i have now swapped out the 2 39w tubes and replaced with 2 T5 39w (left the original 15 w tubes at the back....so now have 78w of T5 and 30w of normal......being a corner unit i dont think i can get any more tubes in there?

Amoung the extra plants i have added some glosso and ricca to the bottom (ricca in a light brown hair net looks superb! my brother spent 20 mins trying to figure out how i stuck the ricca to the drift wood)......but how will these do with that light (its a deep tank 24 inches)....so far it looks ok but its only been 3 days...certainly no o2 bubbles on it!

Also, some of my tall plants have gone brown at the tips.....is this because they are new and just need to settle in or a worse sign...and should i remove the leaves like this? if i should do i cut of the brown tip or the whole leaf at the sand level?

lots of questions!!

Its 350 litres.......also should add.... i cut out the crappy internal filter box and use 2 "3 basket" Eheim canisters....one is a thermofilter as well.

the flow is disrupted by bog wood in the tank so there is little "tank current" to disturb things and inlets/outlets are low down so theres no surface rippling to mess up the co2.......the water is crystal clear....you could drink it ;D and the levels are all spot on (PH is 6.5).

i was also wondering about a surface skimmer (eheim do one to fit straight on one of my outlets) as i have a constant film on the top that looks grim.
