I'm new to bettas, and my betta Alpha is going through a weird phase. He will swim only on one side of the tank, patrolling the glass up and down, left to right, as if he's trying to get a better look at something. But he's not flaring up. Occasionally he swims into the glass, not hard, but like a little dink, becuase he's trying to get close. Then he will flitz to the bottom of the tank and just wallow. He has a betta hammock, and he's used it once before. I actually thought he was dead but a cherry shrimp happened to touch him and he moved. I was concerned, and I did a big water change. I used StressCoat+, but I also have some Seachem Prime on hand. I added some blackwater extract and there are almond leaves in there. He ate today, a good serving of frozen bloodworm. Any advice? Other than that, he seems healthy. His fins are ripped though, from his past life in an ammonia saturated tank, but no visible infection. Appatite is good, and he was swimming in the current when I was doing the water change.
