Is This Normal

Just discovered how to get the video full screen, looks red in the mouth and around the gills, some sort of bacterial infection I would guess at.
ive only had them a couple of days

they were in a bare bottomed tank in MA

In that case you can rule out irritation from sharp gravel in the gills, would guess at a bacterial infection, isolate and medicate :good:

its now in a hospital tank and melafix added!

now we wait! :good:

I would up the oxygen levels in the tank too. If its an internal bacterial infection, you will also need more than melafix which is only really good for external infections like fin rot.

what should i use?

I have found esha 2000 to be quite good, heard myxazin is good but not used it myself. If you have started Melafix, run a 3 day course see if there is any improvement, it maybe just a gill infection (hopefully) if improving run the 7 day course if no improvement after 3 days do a large water change leave I think (not looking on a bottle here: allways read the lable) 48 hours before starting a different med.

Have you checked the others for signs of ich? just a though it could be ich in the gills, but would suspect you would have seen spots before now.
