If it was a livebearer then I'd guess it was pregnant but thats obviously not the case and there is no visible pine-coneing.

As far as I can tell it's feeding ok but is possibly not as active as the rest of the neons, it's also quite a bit older than the rest so that may be a factor.

Should I isolate and medicate?

Possibly relevant...

One of my Flame Tetras had Dropsy a few weeks back and died before I realised what was going on (it was clearly pine-coneing but at the time I did'nt know what that meant, know better now!)

Here's the neon in question...

Almost forgot, water stats are...

Ammonia: 0 mg/l
Nitrite: 0.3 mg/l
Nitrate: 15 mg/l
GH: 12 dh
KH: 9 dh
PH: 7.75

Thanks,

You have a nitrite reading there so i would do a water change, what do you feed the fish, try some shelled peas for now.

Thanks,

I'll get on and do a water change. They are mainly fed on flake food and they also pick on the pellets that I put in for my Corys, occasionaly they get some freeze dried bloodworm and also shelled peas as a treat.

A bit of history...

About a week ago I moved all my fish apart from the 2 mollys from a rather overstocked 10USgal tank along with a mature but small power filter into a new, much bigger, tank, approx 50USgal. I'm guessing the reason the Nitrite is above 0 is because the old tank also had an under gravel filter so perhaps the power filter I moved across is'nt quite up to the job. The new tank also has a large but new power filter which won't have cycled yet. I've been keeping a close eye on the Ammonia and Nitrite, Amonia never goes above 0 but Nitrite does tend to rise so I've been doing 50% water changes every 3 days.

Yea I would try the shelled peas but to me he just looks like he's fat, it could be internal parasites though.

Try he shelled peas first, plus get the fish on a better diet, more frozen foods and veg in there diet, good luck.

he looks over fed to me, thats kinda what my 24k platy looks like right now b/c my mom thinks they are too skinny........
