Hey all. I'm considering a small planted tank and trying to find a good light setup. I'll probably be using an Aqua 40 (approx 32"x30"x30") which comes with fairly crappy 11w light built in. I'm considering removing the hood and adding my own lighting but I really don't know much about lighting a nano tank...

I've seen these lights on ebay:

I realise that this is only 11w but I considered 2 of them. Are worth even looking at or should I be looking at a couple of arc-pods or something completely different? Ideally I want some sort of clip on lighting and somewhere in the 20w or more range (higher the better, but not looking to go really expensive).

Any other recommendations?

Thanks! :)

I have bought a couple of similar ones from eBay for £0.99 plus P+P. They are a bit plasticy, but they are cheap. I haven`t used them yet so I can`t say how good the tube is.

If I find myself needing another clip on, I will probably go for the Arc Pod for a better look and a gauranteed good tube.

Dave.

I've been using an Arc Pod since they came out.
I find it very good, but you really notice the red compared to a full size Arcadia Original lamp.

It's also not that bright
YMMV
