Hi,
Both my Male betta's have developed problems with their tails and fins today.
Garth the blue/red VT's have all scrunched up and Ghengis the red VT is looking really tatty and chewed up.
Ghengis is in a 10 gall tank on his own. No ornaments that he could have caught them on.
Garth is in about 5 gall on a his own too. He has not been himself today not as lively as usual
Have tested the water in both and nitrate, nitrite and ammonia are 0 ph is 8.
Here are the best pics i could get.
Hope you can help.

It is most likely fin rot. Treat with Maracyn plus or Trisulfa both by Mardel if you are in the States. The more quickly you get to it the better. Actually there are several Mardel products that will do. Check the box for the ones that treat fin rot.

Some recommend BettaFix, but many also consider it as counter indicated for Betta.

Do a good water change first and try to keep the water clean. Do not leave wasted food in the tank. It is contagious to Betta especially, so keep utensils sterile. Don't use them in the affected tank and then use them again in another without sterilizing--also hands.
