Um...that's a male platy!

oh dear i have failed right here badly! are you sure!! they seemed very... friendly i hope i dont have gay platys!!! lol
its allot fatter than the other one, was i right in calling it a fat beast?

I'd be worried about some kind of parasite, actually. Also a bit concerned about the splits in the angels' tails.

Angels came like that from the shop so not much i can do there, #41#### i was happy 20 mins ago but am now sad :(
i have two males... (is that bad?) now you say one has parasites! ive read peas are good or something for helping heal ?

OP; how many black widows do you have? They can be very nippy.

I'd do a 25% water change every day for a week, and not feed during that time; it could just be a very greedy fish, or it could be the start of something more serious; perhaps dropsy caused by poor water. How long has your tank been set up and is it cycled? Have you tested the water recently, and if you have can you post the results?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! Peas will help with constipation (deshell them first after cooking for a moment) but they won't "heal" anything. Give it a shot ... maybe he's just stopped up.

tank been going for a good year,
ammonia is 0
ph is just about 7.0-6.8
and 10-15 nitrate

and only 3 black widows, i know there should be more and i need to get some

Just a hint for when you next buy platys (or swordtails or guppys or sailfins or mollys):
The male has a pair of gondopodium - long thin "spine"-like structures where the anal fins are positioned. You can see them on both your males.
Females have large rounded anal fins. You can google images so you can learn the difference yourself. :)

Well, they could be responsible for the split fins on the angels then. Your stats look good (though a reading for nitrite would be nice) so I think it may just be a very greedy fish; I have a couple of tiger barbs with bellies like that.

We do have a pinned topic on how to determine the sex of livebearers. The pictures should quickly make you an expert. You do have a male but I do not see any sign of parasites. Spouse must have seen something but I am missing it myself. The platies look very nice and the other tank inhabitants are a bit aggressive which would account for the nipped fins. Nipped fins will heal quickly if the water quality is kept pristine.
