I think discus shouldn't be classified like any regular chiclids just for the plain fact that they are the hardest to keep, and do require specific water conditions. A juvi discus no matter where you get them from require lots of water changes, just because you get this juvi from a lfs doesn't mean you can get away from it. Nor can you get away from feeding them frozen foods with lots of protein regularly. Discus are discus, they require pristine water conditions...lots of food, proper tankmates, and a proper tank environment! It really doesn't matter if you get them from lfs or breeders.

I disagree. I have dealt with breeders who do 50% weekly water changes, no more. I fed the ones at the shop I was running NLS exclusively and they were breeding.
