Is This Dropsy?

one of my firemouths is really fat looking water stats ammonia 0 nitrite o nitrate around 10 fed varied diet including bloodworm daphnia hikari gold krill mysis

colour is very variable 1 minute bright and vibrant next almost none .

Can you get a pick from the top Mark? From those angles I would say no, just very fat, dropsy looks like the scales are actually sticking out from the fish.

pic from the top down? hmmmm should be fun took ages to get thos ones not the most camera loving fish . the scales dont appear to be popping out . it is a greedy little sod so maybe just a fatso

Pea's, go cook some peas in the microwave, shell them, crumple them up a bit and see if you can get him to eat some, could well be constipated.

agrees with minx, with dropsy, you get the pining effect where the scales stick out like a pine cone, hopefully, the fish has just put on a lil weight, and is maybe a little sensitive about it - lol

im not fat im just big boned lol. he/she seemed to look alittle thinner earlier and my missus said maybe it farted

lol id be surprised if it was carrying eggs its only a bit over 2 inches . well it was no probs getting it to eat peas as it is a greedy sod so just wait for the to digest now and see what happens

Near died yesterday thaught my new loaches had dropsy had swollen bellies but thy where still active so I cooked a few peas crushed them then stuck them in the tank. Woke up this morning and their bellies is not as big. Guess they did a lot of pooing last night lol
