Hi Guys,

I got myself a new tank about 3 - 4 weeks ago and set it up with loads of caves and a sand bed. a week ago i moved my remaining fish into the new tank. Friday (three days ago) i had to remove one of hte male Apisto's as he was hiding vertically in a corner and wasn't moving (thought he was dead, but he's in the old tank and doing fine). Then this morning i noticed this strange behaviour between the remaining male and female and captured it on my phone (appologies for the poor quality).

Is this a mating ritual or somthing else?

cheers

Andy

I'm no expert but i'd say so, yes.

That looks very much like "the dance" to me

Nice lookin fish to BTW

Cheers Gary,

Anyone that can shed some light onto the process of apisto breeding, that would be very helpful (what to expect etc). Missis is getting very defensive over a particular coconut right now and anything that gets close to it, she see's off and keeps going in and out of the coconut. Not seen Him go in it so dont think there will be any eggs in there ?????

They seem to hold particular grudge to the Panda Corys for some reason, but the tetra's are getting it as well as are the Amano Shrimp.
