is this big enough for a betta?

i was thinking of talkin him to buy this: Pic

becasue he can do wut the pic did, divide tank in 2 for 2 bettas and use his old filter...is that a good idea?

I have one of both tanks, and like them both for different reasons. IMO, I don't think the first is too small, I have a female betta in one and she loves it. The second one I also have a betta in, though not divided. I don't like the filter as much, though of course the larger space is great. Your friend probably doesn't need to upgrade, but if he wants to and can afford it, he should go for it. :)

thx for the reply, he said that is it is not that neccesary then he will not upgrade...btw u have GREAT bettas...crowntails *drools*

i have seen those tanks in person and they are too small in my opinion :/ I mean they look like what.. 1/4th of a gallon of water? how much is it?

also, if he does go for the bigger tank to split, the filter will only work on one side, best to get sponge filters for each side. :)

Are you sure you're seeing those tanks? They are small, but there are also smaller versions that some stores carry - very small in fact. They're the same style and shape with the same colored bottom. Anyways, they're a bit over a half of a gallon. I know plenty of people who keep their bettas in containers this small without any problems. IMO, the filter is what keeps it safe - keeps the water aerated and fresher. I don't want to start a big fight, just thought I would let you know their size and what not. :)

No you're right actually I've only seen the smaller version. You just answered something I've been curious about. I've seen pictures of those little azoos online but I see them in person (no light, no filter, just this tiny little glass tank..) and they seem outrageously small (definitely not half-gallon!). Also, on the cover, the betta sitting inside almost looked fake to me because it appeared so small in proportion to the tanks being sold. So I guess there ARE two versions. And they use the picture of the bigger version (of course). Half a gallon is definitely not too bad for a betta, especially with a filter.

Yeah the pics of the bettas have been downsized....I wouldnt keep an ant in a tank that small, there are plenty of larger tanks around for about the same price.

I have 4 of those Azoo tanks and I think they're great! :)
