Hi folks,

After posting a few pics of my first attempt at a Tropical tank with live plants a few members have mentioned that some of the plants don't look aquatic.

When I purchased theses plants they were from reputable aquatic companys in the UK and the guys there were very helpful. However, I do not have the names of all the plants I have in my tank so would be grateful if someone could advise them and also whether they are suitable :good:

The plant in question is the large leaved red and green one just left of the heater:

To be honest, out of all the plants in the tank this one is not doing as well as all the others.

The tank is fitted with a UGF and I recently installed the Nutrafin CO2 system so I am keeping fingers crossed that the plants do establish taking into account that I am only limited to adding liguid fertilisers.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice with this.

I am prepared to replace any plants with recommendations posted on here :good:

Its a semi aquatic plant. It generally looks good for about 2-3 weeks then starts to rot in my experience.

If it aint floppy, pop in in a pot,, i done that with my ' aquatic spider plant' which is best kept in your bathroom :)

I had a similar experience from a "reputable" aquatic plant seller on eBay. I mailed him and asked him for the name of the plant, then looked the name up and asked him to replace the plantor refund the cost of that plant.

He has agreed to replace both plants that aren't aquatic :)
