My Bosemani Rainbow fish keep going to the bogwood and going side by side and shaking their thing. A sign of pairing up???

I've never seen any eggs. They have java fern, bogwood and rocks for eggs if they need them, or would they be happier with a floating mop?

See pics below. Sorry the fish are a blur, but they shake so quick. You get the idea though..

Any thoughts,

I don't know anything about the rainbows egg laying method, but it sounds like one is laying eggs & the other fertilizing them.

No sign of eggs yet though... :( They are at it all the time!

are you sure they're a m/f pair.... i've heard of similar behaviour described as males displaying and trying to show dominance.

Not sure at all....

tbh, i'm not sure how you tell.. any ideas? Is it easier when they are older. I have had them a few months.

nope, i know nothing about Rainbows really :dunno:

just going from similar behaviour in other species

I'm no expert, but I wouldn't be so sure. Unless my fish were gay, the males often did/do it to each other

I tend to think this is what it is. And though your pic is blurry, that looks like to males.

Thanks wiggle and bloo...

Great fish these rainbows. Advise them to anyone that wants a bit more action in the mid-section of their tank.
