So I decided I really want some glofish because I want a tank with like black gravel and a black background and I'll get a blacklight for the tank and it'll look trippy and sweet. (Obviously I'll have a normal light too, just the blacklight for once and awhile coolness). But I also have a guppy and a platy. Now I realize guppies and platies are shoaling fish, but the two get along really well and are active and healthy, and I'm not a big fan of guppies and platies in general so I'm really not inclined to get any more of them, a friend had to give me these in an emergency and I'm just letting them live out the rest of their lives nicely. They're in a cycled 10 gallon right now, would it be ok to put some glofish in them? Danios need to be in like groups of 5, right? so would that be over stocking the 10 gallon? Also, I know they're pretty active, and I could eventually move them to a 20 gallon, but not until the fall, would they be ok in a smaller tank for awhile? Also, does anyone know if blacklights bother fish?

as long as your filtered well you will be at your limit with 1 guppy 1 platie and 5 glofish

That would not be overstocking Mauricia. It might not be the best idea though. Zebra danios, which is what glofish are, really need a lot of swimming room to be happy. They like to make those fast dashes that need some room to do. In my 120 gallon, 6 ft long tank, the zebras will spend the first foot or more just getting up to speed, then they go like crazy most of the tank length before slowing down. A 10 gallon at 20 inches long will really put a crimp in their style. I would give them at least the 30 inches of a 20 gallon long.
