mine did that. it was like a white foam. it will be fine if you do some water changes. its because you didnt wash the sand enough b4 putting it in there.

you have to be sure you wash the sand out for a long time to get that out of it. and like i said both my tanks did that when i put sand in.

yes that is it... i have white and it did that and my friend has black and his was black scuz,,

I am not sure but not overly long, a water change will also be good... or even try scooping it out kinda thing if possable...

Thanks for the tips, I've been scooping it out the best I could and cleaning it off the glass as best I could and now it's just really cloudy from all the sand. I'll get some pictures posted in the picture section as soon as I find my effing camera !

yea the cloudyness will also go away soon enough and a water change will help that aswell... after a few days it will be crystal clear trust me

Just one question about your black sand. Is it natural sand or is it just dyed to be black?

Just clean teh sand until the water is clear are mostly clear... it shouldn't take long.. took me about 30 minutes... (I have black sand a well)
