I'd say male. 85% sure.
females rnt usually built like that... sorry but i cant explain it.

the ray extension is also a little long for it to b female.

just my opinion.

A sure fire way of sexing your Rams is to check the black blotch in the fish's side. If there are blue spangled dots in and around it, that's a female. Those with no dots present are males.

Based on that and the 2 males I have at the moment, I'd say that is a female. :good:

That isn't right. My male has blue dots in and around both spots (as does my female). I would say this looked more like a male (going by the length of the dorsal spines).

This might help but have psting pics of my male and female below for comparision (I can never seem to snap them with the dorsal fin extended :( ). I know for a fact this is a male and female (they are now a breeding pair :) ).

The bets way to get a pair is to just spend a long time watching them in the shop. As long as they are not to cramped they will normally pair off and after watching them for awhile you can normally spot a couple of pairs in any shop tank.

I would say female because of her under belly but I think it has way too much colouring to be one
I have 2 males LFS said they were a pair  they get on fine (didn't at first until I added angels)
My tank is about 150l though

Hi stargirly1208!
That's a young male 100%!
Bigger and more slender than the female with extended black rays on front dorsal fin, slightly larger fins as well including the pelvic fins, female also has a purple-red belly and stockier body!

Id also say its a male, and its not uncommon to have LFS staff that dont have a clue how to sex these fish. My lfs also told me i would have to sex them myself and that its really hard. from the reading ive done i dont thinks its a super hard thing to do, just spend 30 min reading about them.
