i found one neon tetra dead today i notice some finrot on a few and have done a water change, stats of the water are fine, the issue is that ive been treating the tank for finrot
were the meds too strong?
i use myxacilin or sumink like thati dont know its green and its like protazin but for finrot
it has a picture of two clown loaches on the front..
ive had the neon for about a year.............
but i dont quite know why he would have died after medicating for the disease he had

will the others be okay
sorry if you dont get it my typing is just what im thinking and i can be know for wierd sentences

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Did you add the correct dosage.
Did you increase aeraton.
Finrot can kill fish as its a bacterial infection.

60 litre
syno multi ( i used half dose ) the rerason i used the finrot meds
neons 5
bp tetras 7
2 bn pleco only about 2 inches each

tank size 60 litres
the test strip says everything is tip top other than kh which is a bit to high

nitrate was like white dunno if this translates to you but it means its lower than 1
nitrite was non existant apparently

airation optimised

half dose for cat

If you only halfed dosed that's why the med didn't work.
All you do is add the med and increase aeration. Remove black carbon from filter if you use it.

Do any other fish still have finrot. If so I would add the correct amount of med.
R.I.P.

nope all others are fine now , ive put the remaining tetras in a non medicating bucket ther is no hope they have a quarter of the fin they used to have im not guna waste meds, its only 3 tetras and there is no hope

So there no hope for them at all. If you only used half the dose of med it wouldn't of done much anyway.

There is hope if you medicate - they may "only be tetras" but you're not talking about stones - they are living things, and if they have a chance to live, I can't understand why you wouldn't try. I find it quite sad actually :shout:
