Heya,
I've currently got a 60cm (2ft) tank which fits comfortably in the limited space I've got.  It's about 60 litres.

I figured out that I could probably squeeze a maximum of 70-75cm long tank in that space and try to bump myself up to maybe 90L or so.

I've found loads of 80cm long tanks on the market (e.g. Fluval Roma, something like that would be great) but that's just a tad too long.

Are there any options for an odd size?

hmmm interesting question - dunno Daize - I guess having a custom one made would be rather expensive! Have you googled the measurements to see what it throws back?

Thanks Mama, that Roma is the same length but deeper than my current Interpet.  I don't think I'd spend the extra money for a deeper tank (I like being able to reach the bottom easily)! ;)  I think to justify the cost of a brand new tank it would have to be 70-75cm to make the best use of space possible.

TallTree - it's not an overhang issue, it's more like an alcove.  I have to leave enough space for the chair at the breakfast table to be pulled back otherwise it'll be banging into the tank all the time.  75cm is really the absolute maximum I could get away with (believe me, I'd like more) :).

Very expensive, I know, but my MA AquaOak 100l is about that size.

Ha, just checked, in order to post a link, and it's 76cm.

Obviously, the majority of the cost is in the Oak that's used, but the tank is made by Seashell Aquariums, so I'd assume they sell the tank elsewhere, with a different stand and hood, I'd assume it'd be a lot cheaper.

Try PMing MBOU, see if she knows whether MA can do it without the oak.

Oh I so wish you hadn't posted that TLM! I'm now looking round the room now to see what could be moved to make room for it! I'm even mentally dividing the 60L I have to accomodate 2 more bettas! Wahhhhh!
Loved the slightly bigger one they showed at the bottom of that link page - wine rack included! For those evenings when only a glass of veuve cliqot (sp?)and watching the fish will do! lol

MA do some gorgeous tank.  I have a heart attack every time I walk in there and see all the prices ;)  They don't include lighting or filtration either!

Nice find, TLM!  If only the tank was a bit wider, front to back... if they had a version which was 40-45cm instead of 35cm it would seem more value for money.

Trying to find info for Seashell Aquariums now

My good lady wife insisted we have it (Oh, OK, dear, if you say so

), as she was fed up with the cheapr rubbish plastic AquaOne silver monstrosity we had previously.

Unfortunately, she won't consider any more tanks. We have just got rid of an old CRT telly from her dressing table. I keep mentioning that this would be perfect for a 30l cube with a Fighter, but no.

Can't you accidentally steer her into an aquatic shop and get her to fall in love with a betta? lol

Clearseal make standard 30 inch tanks. They're about 76cm and come budget priced. Most places can order them in for you with little trouble.

Found one that's 26"/66cm so it's a bit shorter than you'd like but here's the link. They also make custom tanks.

Sorry the link defaulted to the home page not the one I was on. It's under Aquariums then Bracelss tanks if you are interested.

Oh, she likes them, not a problem there. She just plain refuses to allow me any more tanks.

Thanks Dr Rob!  76cm is still better than 80cm.  All the stands seem to be only 12 inches wide but I might enquire and see if they would make a deeper one.
I wonder if Pets at Home would order it since they do stock some of the smaller Clearseal tanks.

Thanks too Mama - that works out about 138L so that's a nice size tank.  Odd that they don't seem to do a matching cabinet for those dimensions though.
