i had read that a taller tank doesnt meen you can add extra fish but if your planning on having a mbuna tank would this be an issue if they had more room and how would it affect the stocking capacity of my soon to be new tank the dimension will be when its built 72x24x36 inches

That tanks size will work fine for most fish. There are some fish that need height though. Angelfish need at least 18".

Yes, you are correct. As you increase the height of a tank, the surface area does not go up, so the capacity to exchange enough oxygen for an increasing number of fish does not go up as well as a tanks that have more volume due to horizontal dimension increases and thus more water surface area.

I can not comment on the other aspects of your question.

im just parranoid at the minuit that if i order the tank gett it stocked and everything that it will be all out war because they have too much room if that makes sence do you think 2 externals will be enough?

Fish are not more likely to fight if they have more room. The opposite is true. The more room they have the better they can work out there place in the space and they will be less stressed, not more. Filtration capaciy is worked out by deciding where in the range of about 5x to 10x turnover you want to be, depending on your planting goals to some extent and then gathering specific model information. You want to find the volume per hour specification rather than use the "this pump can handle this size aquarium" statement, as usually those are even more exaggerated from reality than the volume per hour spec.
