I was wondering, has my swordtail fry grown enough to go into a 30 gal, with 4 small angels, 4 algea eaters, and 6 red eyed tetras? it is about half an inch long, about 2 to 2.5 cm long. will it be eaten up?
i dont think those size swordtail fry can be kept with angels, the other day my 3" angelfish ate a shrimp that was 1.5" long. I think once the fry are 1 - 1.5 inches long they can survive in there.
I still think that at 1 inch big the fishes can kill the fry. I release one swordtail fry in my 10 gallon main tank and even though he was 1 inch big my praecox Rainbow kept nipping on him piece by piece until he was dead. So I would say if you do release him at 1 inch big you should provide some cover for them to hide from the other fishes when they fell threaten or scared.
If you have plecos you have way too many in there! You only need one! I am not sure about the chinese algae eaters becuase i am only familar with plecos! Well i think you should keep the baby fish in the nursey or breeder net until it gets too big to fit into the biggest fish you have in the big tanks mouth! Well please keep us updated and please post pics of the baby and of the other fish and your tank!
