I WOULD SAY YES :) I THINK THE RATING OF THE 2213 IS UP TO 20 GALLONS ? AND IF YOUR GOING TO GO NICELY PLANTED YOU WONT NEED THAT MUCH FILTRATION :p

eheim 2213 rating is up to 65 gallons.

i have one in my 20gal planted. works great. if you have fish senstive to current then it might not be the choice. but if you plant really heavily then the plants will cover some of the current.

i got the 2213 plus kit @ bigalsonline for 70 dollars US.

good luck.

65 GALLONS !?!?? THAT WOULD BE TOO MUCH :D BUT HEY IT WORKED IN BLASK'S TANK :D MAYBE YOU COULD SAVE MONEY BY GETTING A WEAKER FILTER ?

*i assumed the rating would be lower because i have a eheim 2222 at home, rated to max at about 30 gallons i think :D

I would say a 2213 will be fine for a 29 gallon, it will give you 3.5x tank volume turnover per hour which IMO is about right, you could also run an inline heater on this filter if you had the money and it will still give enough flow.

If you want something rated a bit lower go for a Fluval 104 or now superseced by the 105 that would work well also.

I have an Eheim 2213 in my planted 19 Gallon and it's absolutely fine - though quite a bit over filtrated if anything. I'd say it would be perfect for a 29Gallon.

Are angelfishes, Jack Dampsies and african cichlids effected by strong currents?

No, they are in separate 29 gallon tanks. So are they going to be effected by the current?
