Is Soft Water Lower

this is a silly question my ph in my tank is around 7-8 i want to soften it correct me if im wrong that means it will be a lower ph yes?

Softening water means lowering the general hardness. Areas of hard water have alot of calcium and magnesuim in the water whereas soft water doesnt and lacks some minerals.
Softening water may lower the pH, im sure it does. Best way to achieve soft, acidic water would be to use an RO(reverse osmosis)unit. Plenty of info on the web about Ro units.
