I swear I have changed my tank set-up like 30 times and I have only had it for maybe 3 months. I thought I was completely happy just 2 days ago, but thought it would be nice to have 2 small sticks of bogwood against the back to grow some moss up, and BOOM i go to the LFS ( a very good one though) and I end up getting a brand new centerpiece of bogwood that is gorgous. So the tank is complete once again. I think I need to get a new tank so I can take my engery out there. Anyway I just wanted to know if this is common or is it just a newbie trait

ha ha nah we all do that i think, doesn't matter how you've got it set up you'll never be 100% happy..... our solution is to get 6 tanks, then there's always some tinkering to be done :hey:

Don't feel bad; I'm thinking about doing a major overhaul myself. In fact, I probably tweak it eveytime I do a water change actually... this is mostly because I feel obligated to pick up the rocks I have and vacuum under every time I gravel vac.

The thing that is so funny about it is the way the fish react, yesterday i took every plant, rock, and piece of driftwood out and then slowly put them back ( acyualy I left 1 rock and 1 small piece of driftwood out becuase the new piece I got is so great I didn't want to overcrowd the tank) I think what I have come up with is that this tank needs to be left alone so the plants can grow and flurish, and I will take all my nervious engery and money and put it in a jar for the next tank. The tank really loks great now though and I am gonna wait about 2 months to let everything fill out before taking pictures. I have showed a couple of ppl and they couldn't believe this was my 1st planted tank.

Never being 100% content is one of the best aspects to this hobby in my opinion.

There's always room for improvement so we never get bored!

yea well I am like that in general so it looks as if I picked the right hobby......................

I am preparing a photo essay of what happens when you use the advice from this site, before during and after. However I don't think it will be complete for several months as I want the ground cover to take over before showing the after pics

i just rearranged my takn on the weekend.

was totally overgrown jungle styles tho, poor fishies couldnt swim around much lol.

had to throw out a heap of plants too!
