Help please...!
My water levels are all good, 30% water change every week.
Water seems fairly clear apart from VERY tiny particles, which I think maybe tiny air bubbles even though they don't seem to float to the surface, just circulate around & around.
I have added an external filter 48 hrs ago to help the Juwel internal, but not much difference as yet.
Wondered if anyone knew what these particles might be, & how best to get rid.
The inlet for the external is approx 75mm above gravel directly under the outlet for the internal, which is directed past the top of the pipe just below the surface. The outlet for external is other end of tank approx 25mm below water level.
Please help...!!!

i have had the same problem with "dusty" water, it seems its diatoms, get some filter wool and it should clear it up, it did mine in about a week, the wool has to go in the final chamber of the filter, dont put it too close to the propeller though, it will get caught up and stop it!

also when you do a waterchange clean the deco and the glass, then leave for a short while for the "dust" to settle then have a waterchange...i was advised on 40% every other day....:good: worked a treat, i still have the odd floater but not as bad, my water was almost cloudy with particles....

do you have patches of brown algae at all?

Mrs M 40% every other day ??? thats a bit much id say , i only change between 25% and 40% each week and my tanks are fine , i also use filter wool in the last chamber of the filter and replace that every week ( brought a roll off ebay , very cheap)

I think she meant as a solution to clear up the cloudiness. It's definitely overkill as a regular change schedule.

yes it was a clearing method, i think 25-30% a week is a normal regime....
