Just to say hi to all this is my first post :D

i have decided to set up a planted tank but an unsure if my tap water will do or if i will need to get a ro unit.
my tap water seems to have high phosphate!

p.h 7.6
gh 14 deg
no3 .5 ppm
no4 3 ppm

I plan to use co2

regards mick

Measure your phosphate levels of the tapwater, my tapwater is really high in phosphate and will max out a test kit, I still dose it manually though I'm just careful of the PO4.

Well your water is hard thats for sure but it wont be a problem, as stated you will need to get yourself a phosphate kit and measure the tapwater, you will also need to know your KH, the KH is gonna be high given everything else but this wont be a problem either, but you will need to know it in order to measure your CO2 levels when you get setup.

Welcome to the forum btw if you need to know anything just ask.

thanks for replies sorry no4 should read PO4 and is 3ppm which i would of thought would be abit high
