I'm new to breeding.

I have a 20L tank with a heater and filter.

Is this tank too small to have guppy fry in, they will only be ther for a short while.

thanks :) :) :)

haha 10 gal is like 30Litres i have 20 litres

its around 5 gal

is that too small to have fry in, if its not, is it too small to have a few guppys in.

Personally I'm keeping ten guppy fry in a 1.5 gallon tank at the moment till they are big enough for my thirty, and I don't even have a heater in it. (not that they need it where I live, I'm the only one having a problem with the summer heat) They're doing fine, so I don't think your five gallon is too small, unless you have a huge amount of babies, and even then a good filter should do the trick for a little while.

SMALL!?!? Wow, I keep my guppy fry in a 10gal. Your fry will be perfectly alright, just on thing how many do you have?
Just in case you wantd to know 1 imperial gal is 4.546 lt so 20 lt is 4.39 gal.

Mo.

Sorry, not the brightest reader... your fry will be fine anyway! ^__^ as long as after they have grown to full adult form you get them a proper tank,or even before that.
I thought you said 20gal :*)

ye i got some fry in a 5 gal with a heater and power filter......should be fine. just watch that the filter doesnt suck up the small ones.

your fry should be fine in a tank that size while they're growing up

whoa we just posted at the exact same time

Guppy fry can be raised in a small tank but the tank must be cycled first. They can't deal with ammonia or nitrite very well at all. I use 5 1/2 gallon tanks as breeder tanks to raise my guppy fry until they can be separated out into females and males.
