I have a 56 gallon freshwater tank. I currently have 7 tiger barbs, 7 bosemani rainbow fish and 1 rainbow shark. I wanted to add about 7 red crystal shrimp. Would this be ok? I would love to also add a black ghost knifefish but I believe this would make the tank way overstocked even though the fish are pretty small now (barbs are 1 inch, bosemani rainbow are 2 inches, rainbow shark, 2 inches).

Am I accurate that adding both the 7 shrimp and the black ghost knifefish would be pushing the limit way to high and it would be detrimental to all the fish?

Thanks.

The rainbows will eat the shrimp. They, being boesemani rainbows, get to 5 inches in some cases. They also demand clean water. Weekly 50% waterchanges minimum. They also need lots of veggies in their diet. Feed a varied diet consisting of fresh, frozen, and prepared food. Personally, I feed spirulina flake as the staple and suppliment a few days a week.

I think the BGK gets too big for your tank, but since I've never owned one I can't say for sure.
