Hi i have a 55gall tank i just want to see if its over crowed or its ok and the fish will be heathly it contains
2 blood parrots
1 smale convict
3 unnone cichlids
1 jack demsy
1 green terror
2 black and white raphael cat

Hi yes it is over crowded Im afraid. My prediction for the tank is the green terror will hit maturity and wipe out the whole tank.

Can you post a pic of your unknown cichlids please so we can work out what they are.

In a 55g you would probs be able to do

1 Jack Dempsey
1 Convict (never go on the size of a fish at present as they will grow to adult size thats how you work out if a tank will work or not)
1 Blood Parrot - or depending on what the unknown cichlids are one or two of them.
2 Raphael Catfish

To this tank with 3 cichlids in I would then add a school of giant danios or tiger barbs or rainbow fish as dithers to distract the cichlids from each other. I would suggest giant danios best for this tank as they are the toughest and the fastest.

sorry about it being blurry alittle
and you shear green terrors are agressive? becouse mine is 4 inch and was being bullyed all most to death by a 1 inch red tail shark i had in there

I think they might be albino kribensis but the photo is pretty blurry any chance of a better one? The thing with GTs are they are sometimes fine for a while but once they hit sexual maturity thats when the problems start. It might not be just on size more so on age, alternativly you might have been sold a blue acara as they look quite similar when small and are often mis sold. Again can you get a good pic of them?

With them being albino its tough to work out what it is, Im struggling to find a new world cichlid with a spot like that on the dorsal fin. Can you remember what they were labeled as in the shop at all? Anything to give us a clue.

I suspect they may be african cichlids though.

One more point with the GT, if it is a GT and it grows on to be peaceful because it does happen but is rare. They will still grow to like 10 inches which IMO is a big too big for a 55 gallon tank
