so not that long ago i cycled my 10 gallon tank. with that tank eventually the nitrite spiked really high, i did a huge water change, waited an hour or so and the tank tested

ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate .5ppm

ever since then its read that (do about 3 gallon water change weekly)

anwyays i recently cycled my 35 gallon tank (fish in cycling....i know) and i squeezed my dirty 10 gallon filter into the 35 to speed up the process (and put in decorations).

anyways i had 2 neon tetra die tested the water and the nitrite amount was massive

just did a aprox 15 gallon water change and waited a little over an hour, just tested my tank

0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, .5ppm nitrate

is the tank fully cycled? or is it just because of the water change ?

I would say that it is because of the water change. If the numbers stay there for a week, THEN it is cycled. Just keep testing and always be prepared for a WC. :good:

Yeah my plan is to check again in a few days and see if nothings changed, lets hope so

I would check it every 24 hours.

will do made a post with pics of the tank here
