Hey! I'm new to the Fish world and got three Red Wag Platys about a week and a half ago. I've been reading through a lot of information about Platy's and I think that one of mine might be pregnant because she is so much bigger than the male and the other female. So, my question is, do you think she really is pregnant and if so, is giving birth in the tank a viable option if I have some sort of plants the fry can hide in, or should I buy a breeding tank.

as for the birth taking place in the tank as long as u have a lot of places for the fry 2 hide then yes its a viable option but u still mite only get a tiny amaount survive breeder traps are always handy 2 have but it all boils down 2 do u want 2 keep the fry grow them up and either sell or keep them if u do then the better option is a trap or a seperate grow out tank thsi will ensure more of the fry survive
