I am currently cycling a 180 litre juwel vision, and currently have a 90 litre hex tank, which houses my dwarf blue male gourami.

My question is this....once my tank is cycled, i was thinking about moving him to the new tank, and adding 2 females for him, do you think this is a good idea, or should i keep him alone? Wont he be lonely?

When i orginially bought him, i purchased him plus a female, but after a couple of weeks, she died, i still dont know why, the water stats were fine :byebye:

Anyway back to my Q, move him? If yes, should i get him 2 females?

It's up to you. 2 females would be fine in the new tank but male dwarfs don't mind being alone so you could leave things as they are.

I would agree most gouramis can be quite happy on their own although I always buy my fish in small groups or pairs cos im a sucker and hate to see fish on their own, in fact the only fish ive ever bought one of was my betta.

Pleased to say my gourami is staying in my 90 litre tank, i am not moving him into my 180 litre tank, as he seems so happy where he is, and ive had him for around 3 months now, and become very attached to him, so dont want to stress him out, he gets on with the other fish in the tank, whereas if i added him to my new tank, he may not like the new guys in there lol   :D

I know my flame lived in a 5G for almost a year before he died of itch.
During most of that time, all he had for company for one black phantom, and a snail. He seemed fine until the last few weeks leading to his death...
