Well This Morning I woke up to a skinny molly that should have been pregnant....my first fry experience
so i looked around a found a fry....the only fry....
i named it lucky for that reson and i dont think lucky was so lucky....
as soon as i found him i put him in a bowl and he was happily swimming around....so later on maybe like two or three hours...i found it on the gravel just laying there...
it put it in a "lees kritter keeper" and still nothing.
it seems as if its dead...is this normal fry behavior or is it dead?

If the fry isn't moving at all, isn't eating and doesn't even move when disturbed (E.g. poked), it may well be dead.

Well i put food in the bowl but idk if it ate or not...i crushed it so it was the right size.
the reason im so unsure is because whenever i watch birthing vid on youtube the fry look dead when they are born.
he was just born last night
he's motionless right now.

Against my better judgement, I would say...poke him..if he moves, he's alive, if he doesn't he's passed I'm afraid.

well even after mine were born a week ago they were moving the whole time. i only had one stillborn fry and i thot it was moving and it decayed in the tank. so id just poke it to see if its ok.

well it died   oh well theres always next drop.
sucks hes the only one i found this morning

what i do is i go to my lfs and see if they have very very pregnant females! and if they do i take them if they dont i wait until the store gets restocked up which is every thursday then they definetly have them there. thats how i got my fry in less the a week keeping guppys. well if u want fry really early then try this. usually the beautiful males get taken first so i go there right after school!!

aweee that sucks :( how many females do u have?
2 and i dont think the other one is pregnant.
i have no males but i plan to buy another female and 1 male

Females if they have been in a mixed tank or with previous males, they're more than likely to be holding sperm from previous mating,so you may still get fry with no male present :)
