Im getting so excited about getting my new fish i really hope it is!

I started the cycle two weeks ago approx, have been adding the right amount of ammonia every day and recroded all my results,
Last night I added 3-4ppm of ammonia, then 12 hours later I have taken my readings and my ammonia is down to 0.5 and my nitrite is down to 0.5.... does this mean its pretty much complete?!?

please say yes lol!
Only problem im seeing is i have noted a spike in Nitrites.... I was away for 4 days in the middle of the cycle i wonder if it happened then, then dropped?

Do i now need to do a larger water change? (75%)?

Many thanks guys have a good weekend!

The general rule for a cycled tank is if your ammonia and nitrItes are cleared within 12 hours for a test period of at least 4-5 days. However, slightly longer than 12 hours or if even up to 24hours, can still qualify for a complete cycle. But do wait a few days to make sure this happen each time. And then drain the tank to the bottom(90-95%) water change, make sure the temperature is alright and the water added dechlorinated and then acclimate your new fish to the tank.
