I got him from my local fish store two days ago and noticed white spots on his head and mouth. The tips of his fins are also discolored. I think it might be fungus or columnaris. Because I have researched that columnaris is contagious I have isolated him in a bucket and am treating him with aquarium salt. Any ideas of what he has?

Any recommended courses of action?

Welcome to the forum.

I honestly don't know what it is, but I think you did it right. However, @Colin_T might have the answer. To help them, try to get a better photo, as from this angle it just looks like a normal betta.

You can kinda see the blotches better with these.
If this betta came with this, then it might be just the colouring of the betta(DON'T QUOTE ME ON THIS I HAVE NO EXPERIENCE WITH DISEASES THIS IS JUST ME TALKING), but if it started changing colours then it might be a disease. Again, other members will know more than I do.
